Training Strategy Implementation funding is money that can be accessed by any organisation that provides ‘care', ‘support' or ‘enabling' services for vulnerable or disabled people. It's simple to apply and easy to claim.

Examples of eligible care and support services:

• activities that stimulate and entertain Alzheimer's sufferers
• personal care for people in their own homes
• lunch clubs for elderly people
• support for carers that equips them for their role
• residential homes and outreach services
- this really is a very flexible offer

QCP http://www.qcp.org.uk/index.php are the responsible body for this funding in our sub-region. You can contact Pat Ryder or Yvette Dunn on 0114 2270040 or Email info@qcp.org.uk for an informal discussion.

Right now, QCP are trying to get more Voluntary Sector organisations to apply for these grants. Grants can be claimed for members of staff and volunteers - and one person can have more than one grant.

£65 Grants are available for:
• Accredited Food Hygiene
• Accredited First Aid
• Accredited Moving and Handling
• Non-accredited ‘Common Induction Standards' and ‘Management Induction Standards' also attract funding
• Accredited Units of Health and Social Care NVQs
If you've sent your staff or volunteers on these accredited courses in the recent past, you can back-claim for that training - giving your training budget a much-needed top-up. VAS already provides some of this training and we can organise tailored training for you if you wish.

Not sure whether your organisation is eligible?
Contact QCP - but hurry!!! This money is definitely on a first come-first served basis and it must be spent and claimed by the end of March 2011
