The Big Tree Plant Funding Scheme, from the Forestry Commission and Defra, encourages tree planting in places where people live and work. Community, civic and non profit groups can apply. It can provide funding for community involvement, site surveys and expert advice, trees, planting materials, labour, and tree care and maintenance.

Deadline: September 2011 (keep an eye on the website for the exact date).
