Sheffield City Council has just announced that it will now accept applications to its Small Grants Fund from larger organisations i.e. those with an annual income of up to £750,000 (previously only small groups could apply).
The maximum grant that each group can receive in a 12 month period remains at £4,000 and there is a fast track process for applications up to £750.


From 1 November 2010, larger organisations can apply for projects or costs that are not already part of their organisational budget or for one-off / start up project costs. These organisations can now apply for:

  •  Volunteer travel expenses
  •  Volunteer training
  •  Interpretation costs
  •  Publicity costs (up to £200)
  •  Items of equipment (but not computers)
  •  IT software / networking costs / upgrading costs & training
  •  Accountancy fees
  •  A project to deliver a specific project as a one-off or as a start up cost
The next deadlines for grants up to £4,000 are:
5 November, 26 November 2010 and 4 January 2011.
