The European Return Fund from the UK Border Agency is now open. Funding is available to help the delivery of assisted voluntary return programmes for migrants from outside the European Union who wish to return to their country of origin.

The fund is open to NGOs, charities, academic institutions, local government, intergovernmental organisations, limited companies and partnerships made up of these organisations. Successful providers of these programmes must not expect to make a profit from their delivery.

The deadline for applications is 4 January 2011. Interested bidders can attend a pre-application workshop in London during December.

This fund is one of three EU migration funds that the UK takes part in. The others are the European Refugee Fund and the European Integration Fund which are not currently open.
