The Department of Health's Social Enterprise Investment Fund has capital grants from £50,000 to £450,000 available for social enterprises working in health and social care that need funding to put into capital assets. Grants can be used for:


* Property or land purchase
* Some fees relating to capital projects including solicitors, architects and surveyors
* Property renovations and refurbishments
* Purchase of vehicles
* Equipment for delivery of services e.g. fixtures and fittings
* IT equipment.


Whilst all applications from health and social care delivery organisations will be considered there is a particular interest in applications working within the following priorities:


* Carers' organisations
* User-led organisations working with users on personal budgets
* Dementia
* Long-term conditions
* Social care spin outs.


The deadline for applications is 1 November 2010. Money must be drawn down and spent by 31 March 2011.
