Village SOS is hosting free events on community enterprise, including one in Doncaster for Yorkshire and the Humber:

Venue: Doncaster Racecourse, Doncaster
Wednesday 19 October 2011, 10:00 - 4:00

The event will include information on how to start your own community-owned project, workshops and exhibits, advice from sector specialists such as Plunkett Foundation, and it's partners Co-operatives UK, Locality and Action With Communities in Rural England (ACRE). There is also a free lunch provided.

There will also be people sharing their experiences about community enterprises from real life community enterprises, such as shops, pubs, broadband projects and a transport scheme, as well as stars and business experts from the BBC One series Village SOS, including Taste Tidewell's Pete Hawkins and ‘village champion' Tim Nicol.

You should attend this event if:

• You have an idea for a project to help your community but don't know how to start

• You already have a community-owned project and are looking for advice and support

• You are from an organisation that supports rural communities or community-owned projects and want to know more.

You need to book a place. Visit the village SOS website here for booking information.
