Round 2 will open on 24 October 2011 and close on 12 December 2011.

This funding is for capital projects that create, develop and improve playing fields for sporting and community use and offer long term protection of the site for sport.

Sport England want the improvements to contribute to both retaining and increasing participants in sport at a local level.

Projects are likely to involve the construction of new pitches or improvement of existing ones that need leveling or drainage works.
