The Rushlight Awards 2011 are open for applications. The awards recognise public, private and voluntary sector organisations in England and Ireland that have developed environmentally beneficial innovative and technological projects.

There are 22 categories, divided into five groups:
• Natural Energy
• Clean Energy
• Energy Environmental
• Resources Innovation
• Environmental Management.

There is a prize fund worth £500,000 of services donated by the programme's sponsors. Prizes are given for each category winner and for the overall winner for each category group. Each overall category group winner will also be entered for the main Rushlight Award.

The awards are accredited by the RSA and the winners of the group categories will be eligible to go forward to represent the UK or Ireland in the European Business Awards for the Environment.
