The National Lottery Awards 2011 have launched. Any project that has received Lottery funding can be nominated for the Awards.

The Awards have seven categories, each reflecting an area of Lottery funding: Arts; Education; Environment; Health; Heritage; Sport and Voluntary/Charity .

Shortlisted entries compete in a public vote and the three projects in each category with the most votes progress to a final round of public voting. The winners in each category will be announced on a special BBC1 TV show later in the year.

Winning entrants receive a £2,000 cash prize to spend on their project

For more information on nominating a project visit the National Lottery website here, or telephone 020 7960 6828. Nominations are open until 5pm Friday 18 February 2011.
