Local charities, community projects and groups and not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants of £6,000 from NatWest's CommunityForce. The scheme also aims to get local people volunteering with the projects which apply. There are three stages to the programme:

Applying - Charities and projects can apply now for an award
Voting - In September people will be able to vote for their favourite projects. The three projects with the most votes in each CommunityForce area will win £6,000 each

Volunteering - When voting begins in the autumn, the public will be able to join NatWest staff in volunteering with local projects looking for help.

Deadline: the deadline for applying is 4 September 2011.
