SYFAB: Libraries Development Initiative

The Libraries Development Initiative, launched by the Arts Council England and the Local Government Association, will work with up to 10 projects in the library sector to explore the possibilities of arts and culture working together.Funding of up to £20,000 will be available per project. Projects will explore how establishing arts and culture in libraries can improve people's experiences, bring benefits to the library service, develop cultural provision in local areas, look at libraries sustainability and relevance in their local communities.
Applicants should complete an expression of interest form that explores one of the following areas:
• Part 1: new delivery models for arts and culture working together
• Part 2: coordinating partnerships to achieve national policy outcomes
• Part 3: books and reading
• Part 4: commercial partnerships.
Shortlisted organisations will be invited to complete a full application. Successful projects will be announced on 13 February 2012.
The Libraries Development Initiative will run March 2012 to March 2013.
