Charities, social enterprises, community interest companies and voluntary and community organisations can apply for free legal advice from LawWorks.

The free advice can cover a range of legal work including company law, employment law, intellectual property law, property law, charity law, tax/VAT law, insolvency and help in drafting contingency plans, insurance law, health and safety law and general contractual / commercial matters.

There is an online application form to complete to request support. Law Works will review the application to see if they will be able to help you or refer you to another organisation if required.

Residents associations, animal welfare organisations, private leisure and sports clubs, professional or trade organisations, organisations whose primary object or purpose is the promotion of religion or international organisations whose primary focus is on benefiting communities overseas (unless they also benefit communities in the UK), organisations whose primary object, purpose or activity is campaigning or lobbying, are not eligible to apply.

For more information visit the LawWorks website here.

LawWorks also provides the LawWorks Initial Electronic Advice (IEA) Service, which provides answers to brief legal questions. This is suitable for brief questions rather than more in depth issues. For more information and to register, visit the IEA service here.
