The Forces in Mind Trust (FIMT) has launched with funding from the Big Lottery Fund and partnership support from the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. Led by the Confederation of Service Charities (COBSEO), the FIMT is a grouping of charities and mental health organisations.

Over the next 20 years, the FIMT will provide long-term support for Service personnel and Veterans across the UK in making a successful transition to civilian life. The FIMT will focus on a range of problems that can affect ex-service personnel and their families can experience, including alcohol-related issues and mental illness.

The FIMT expects to be open for applications for grants from July 2012. More information can be found on the BIG Lottery Fund website here.
