More Sheffield Community Assemblies have got the Community First grant scheme up and running. It gives grants between £500 - £2500 to make your area a better place to live. This is very important funding for small Sheffield groups, but it is a bit complicated - projects must fit priorities (and closing dates) set by each ward, and some places are further ahead than others. Don't worry though - it is a four year scheme, so there will be time for all areas to set up the necessary systems and invite bids.

This is what has been announced so far:

South Community Assembly (Gleadless Valley, Graves Park, Beauchief and Greenhill, and Nether Edge wards)
Gleadless Valley and Beauchief and Greenhill wards have agreed on the following priorities:

Tackling environment issues
Supporting and promoting safer and stronger communities
Working with children and young people
Promoting health and wellbeing (particularly among older members of the community)
Providing and supporting access to Learning, skills and employment Support
