01 March 2011

The Church and Community Fund (CCF) offers grants of up to £10,000 to Anglican churches, or other organisations working in close partnership with the Church of England, for outreach projects in their communities. Anglican projects run in partnership with ecumenical or other-faith partners are welcomed. Grants are targeted at parishes in the highest areas of deprivation, or at pockets of deprivations within parishes. The website gives the following guidance about the projects which may be funded:
"Types of projects supported included the salary costs for youth, children's and community workers, the running costs for homeless centres, conversion of church buildings to enable use by the wider community, funding towards street outreach and many more socially engaging initiatives."
The fund will not fund maintenance, restoration, repair or heritage works to church buildings including organs and bells. It will also not be the sole funder for a project - other funds for the project should also have been secured or be planned for.
The next deadlines for 2011 are: 31 March and 30 June.
For more information see the CCF website here.
