The Cabinet Office is reviewing the Charities Act 2006, there are two online surveys that you can use to participate and give your opinions. One is for members of the public and the other is for charities.

They also want more detailed evidence on a number of subject areas:

• Public benefit and the definition of charity
• Exempt charities and the principal regulator approach
• Land disposals
• Trustees
• Mixed motive investment
• Merger, restructuring and winding up
• Organisational forms.

In the next two to three weeks they will be asking for more detailed evidence on these subject areas as well:

• Public charitable collections
• Fundraising: self-regulation and transparency
• Charities' accounting and reporting
• Charity registration and excepted charities
• Complaints, appeals and redress.
