The British Gas Energy Trust (BGET) is accepting applications from charitable organisations for their Small Grants Programme 2011. Grants of up to £3,000 are available for activities or small capital items that fit in with the programmes objectives, which are:

• The provision of fuel debt advice or energy efficiency advice
• The submission of online applications to the British Gas Energy Trust on behalf of British Gas customers

• The promotion of the Trust.
There is a priority for projects helping the elderly and people suffering from mental illness.

Eligible items or activities for each objective are:

Fuel debt advice or energy efficiency advice - software to enhance services, the provision of self help materials on debt prevention / resolution for clients, training course fees for training in money advice, energy debt, or energy efficiency and the development of literature on debt prevention in a range of languages

The submission of online applications to the British Gas Energy Trust on behalf of British Gas customers - scanners, laptops, dongles used for outreach support to help email applications to the Trust, as well as computers and printers
• The promotion of the Trust - projectors and screens for presentations given about the Trust.

In this round the Trust is expected to award approximately 40 grants and competition is expected to be high.
