The British Federation of Film Societies (BFFS) is accepting applications for the Film Society of the Year Awards 2011.

This year there are four new categories, including the Filmbank Audience Award, which the winner receives a cash prize of £1,000 and two runners up will receive £250.

The award categories are:

• Best Film Education Programme
• Best Marketing and Publicity
• Jim Dempster Award for Innovation
• BFFS Award For Outstanding Contribution by an Individual
• Best Film Programming
• Community Award
• Best New Society
• Best Student Film Society/Cinema
• Engholm Prize for Film Society of the Year
• Filmbank Audience Award.

Any UK film society, community cinema or community screening group are eligible to apply.
